StutterSense - making sense of stuttering. This site focuses on stuttering as a mindbody (psychosomatic) symptom. We need to teach the brain that speaking is safe. Here is the link to Alan Gordon's book "The Way Out" (2021). Maybe just first read the first free sections on the Amazon website before deciding if you want to buy the whole book! It's not long and it's in a very reader-friendly style, yet is based on the latest neurological research. Keep in mind that it's about psychosomatic pain - but the book is just as relevant for psychosomatic stuttering! The principles are the same for all psychosomatic issues. https://www.amazon.com/Way-Out-Revolutionary-Scientifically-Approach-ebook/dp/B081DNNRYZ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=9FH28IQEPDB9&keywords=The+Way+Out+Alan+Gordon+book&qid=1699871308&s=books&sprefix=the+way+out+alan+gordon+book%2Cstripbooks-intl-ship%2C287&sr=1-1
ReplyDeleteIt's an excellent book! Lack of subconscious safety.. subconscious fears of speaking and stuttering.
DeleteI'm fully in board with these mind body issues.
And here is the link to Mr Dan Buglio's Youtube range of daily FREE "Pain Free You" videos on dealing with psychosomatic issues. These videos are excellent and he has hundreds of them, also "short" versions that summarize his ideas. Again, note that it's not just about psychosomatic pain, it includes stuttering - as the principles are similar. These videos are great to keep you on track in gradually changing your mindset. Best wishes! https://www.youtube.com/@PainFreeYou
